No they stopped making warriors in 2004. 2005 is when they stopped.

2004 was the last year that the warrior was made, i still dont understand how you could have a 5 speed warrior, are you sure its a warrior lol?

ya my old 88 warrior even had 6 gears it had the original stickers on it and everything

sorry to inform you but the warrior has always had 6 gears and reverse .. only the first year or two also had a recoil back up starrter ..

and just so you know, an extra gear doesnt give you more speed, it just shortens the gap between each gear, allowing for better acceleration. 6 gears just means that it needs 6 gears that are closely ratioed for an engine that isnt strong enough to accelerate as fast with a 5 speed tranny.

think about it. if a warrior had 4 gears and went 55 it would take a while, because it couldnt blow through the gears as fast. thats why it has 6 gears.


-you would be right to say that if you added another gear to a 5 speed making it a 6, then it would be faster, but yamaha(and all other models) make 6 speeds that are the same speed as 5 speeds, they just need lower gearing to get up to speed.

an example is that a kx 80 has 6 speeds, whereas a kx 125 has 5 speeds, since the kx is stronger, there really isnt a need for the close gears in the gearbox.

that looks like good information, i know there is another model of warrior, sometimes when im searching for parts there are 2 warrior models i cant think of the name but i think it is for california, i could be wrong but im to lazy to research it.
