2001 blaster
#1
I am having an intermitant problem with my sons blaster. The atv acts and sounds like the throtle is stuck wide open. It will not allow you to turn the machine off with the on/off switch or the key and the only way we can get it to throttle back down is to put it in gear and let the clutch out. This has happened in neutral and while in first gear with the clutch handle squeezed. Any suggestion what could be causing this r what I can do to fix it is very much appreciated. Thanks Brian

Usually, when you have any out of control revving problems...it stems down to an air leak somewhere.
Check that the carb boots are nice and tight. The last blaster I owned was a 97....does the 2001 still have the tors on it? check the cables for binding...I would remove the carb cap and make sure the slide/cable/spring is not sticking.

SOmetimes when it won't even turn off with the kill switch is becuase once it revs so high it dosn't need the spark to keep going. ONce it revs and stays high, it will run on its own, the same as a desil would without spark, It gets so hot that it ignites its self. Check the tors unit and make sure everything is ok, and check your cables for pinching or binding. You also might have a air leak.
