blaster suspension

Default blaster suspension

ok as we all know the blaster suspension is pretty stiff, and pretty much sucks, i did a search and could not really pull up anything that would put my mind at rest, so can different front shocks from different yamaha's bikes work??? as for the rear i really cant see paying that much for a single spring.... money can go else where, so guys lets put our heads together and see what we can come up with , thanks

if you searched on this forum, you can find tons of threads on this subject, most of which are mine. I have learned that banshee front shocks and a 250r rear shock will fit easily on the blaster. it will make the quad ride a little bit higher though. search this topic on the forums, you will find ALOT of information

The 400ex and 250R rear shock is a good upgrade on a blaster, However it takes some modifictaions to make them work. You need to change the size of the inside diamater of the bushings to get the pin to fit in. You have to be careful when changing the rear suspension because alot of bikes are linkage and the blaster is not.

Your best option is to find a set of banshee front shocks. For the rear there a number of options to use (250r, 400ex, z400 and kfx400). I just put the kfx400 rear on mine and it is a huge improvement. Do not let the words "with modification" scare you away from the rear shock replacement. It is a simple modification to make. I am mechanically stupid and I did not have any trouble with the install. You will need to make new bushings for the top and bottom of shock and maybe add a couple of washers and make a couple of holes larger but that is about it. There is a great write-up on it on blasterhq.com. Let me know if you need any help with the install if you decide to go this route.

yeah, the modding part does not scare me one bit, i just needto know what works and what does not work, then i can go from there, thanks for all the great info, now if this was a car fourm and we were talking bout modding my 1994 dodge stealth r/t twin turbo then yeah i would be scared, but not on my quad, but thanks for the great info, and the site, will keep you guys up dated,also keep the ideals coming
