Is it possible to test a CDI to see if it is good or not?? if so how??

 

I just borrowed a friends and tried it. When my machine started up with his cdi, I knew what the problem was.

 

Also, check the wire going inside your plug boot. I've seen several that corroded to the point the boot was not actually screwed into the plug wire.

I know the coil and plug cap are bad, that is a piece of cake to test. Just wondered why it blew up a second coil and cap???? Gonna take the CDI to Bobby J's to have them test it, then I'll know more or if I need a new one.
