are sears comp testers any good and what is the name of the tester i need to check crankcase pressure

yeah they work, make sure you get the one that can screw into a plug's threads and not the one with a rubber stopper that you have to hold in place (impossible)

Make sure it has the right size adpter to fit your plug.

bought one the other day got it home and it didn't fit.

went to VIP and bought the same one that had several adpters.
