I find what WSanders is saying a little hard to be true. 1) What a screwed up job of marketing it would be to market the Raptor like they have and turn around and make one in the same year that practically would take its place. 2) The ATV mags new WAY before the dealers about what the Raptor would actually be and had "spy" photos of it. 3) They wouldn't tell a guy on the phone all about "them" while no one else in the industry either knows or has leaked info on it. 4) With a Dec. release, there would be a lot of folks taking back Raptor deposits for the "Banshee II" or trying to sell their new Raptor.
The pure racer, 426 is at most a maybe. A 2-stroke twin at 500cc is a very long shot.

Yeah, I figured as much. Besides, in a magazine, they (yamaha reps) stated that the current Banshee would be around for at least a couple more years.

Here's something else to think about. I just got off the phone with customer service and they said they couldn't figure out why a dealer was spreading nonsense like that. They also went on to say that very soon, some franchises would be revoked and sales would be replaced with online sales direct through Yamaha at a 15% savings to the customer!

go back and read the magazines again, they have mentioned it and expected yamaha to have released them to them in the sept issue of dws/4wheelaction. They have plenty of reasons not to release anything until all of the final touches are made on making the raptor #1 And if you have to know you can always call an Knobby at Yamaha of Japan Im sure that Wsanders and his Trex will be cheap with Titanium and carbon fiber parts. Hes pulling your leg, they havent been specific about the quads yet.

LOL! Guys, I was just KIDDING! That's why I put that little winky guy at the end. I thought I would get you going with my crazy story and then put the winky guy at the end and we'd all get a good laugh out of it. I don't even own a dealership. I'm in the trucking business.

Sorry if anyone thought I was trying to start rumors or lie. I was just funnin' around a lil' bit!

I do wish they would build those though.

You gotta admit, that was pretty good, huh?!?

Here's another second hander for you. A friend of mine set up my local dealers first raptor. He said he thought it had more power than his stock 250R's (1atc, 1trx). He only rode it in a gravel parking lot, but he said it wasn't as tippy as it looked , and it felt real good because of the narrow tank. Know, we all know what second or third hand stories are good for, but this guy has been riding forever, and he is a red blooded honda man, so when he shook his head and said it seemed to have more power than his 250R I thought that was a pretty good report. I wish I could say my wore out 99 400ex would beat it so I wouldn't have to think about trading, but from his story it sounds like I may need to get the hammer after the ole piggy bank.
