Default Removing Airbox Lid???

I know this is probably a completely simple answer, but I am completely new at this so please forgive me on this one...

I want to remove the airbox lid on my 05 Raptor. Anyone who has a Rappy knows that there is a little hose connected to the airbox lid. What is this for and what do I do with it if I want to remove the lid. Do I just let it hang there?

Thanks!

I don't have one, but it is probably just a breather hose, I would just take a wire tie to it. Someone else will have to verify this for sure.

It is the crankcase breather hose. Just disconnect it from the top of the lid and buy a small K&N type filter to put on the end of it so that junk doesn't go down in there. I just bought a cheap one from Advanced Auto Parts. I've also heard of people taking the foam air filter from a gas powered RC Car and putting it on there, if you have a hobby shop close by.
