I just sold my 98 CR250 and i want a quad a banshee has always been a dream machine for me but i was thinkin 400ex ... What should i get?? And another question Do banshees pipes rust cause i wanan rip through water and mud without worrying about rust cause my friend has a 00' banshee with over $13 grand dumped into it that i wanna buy any sugjestions would be great thanks...

 

A 400 EX is a good reliable quad; however, I think you will have more fun on a banshee. The after market is endless and they will destroy a 400 ex. As far as the pipes rusting...well that is just typical maintanence. I use mothers' chrome polish on my polished pipe on my YFZ after every ride. But remember.....banshees don't really like water

 

From my experaince Banshee's really don't like water and if you put your quad away wet the pipes will rust. Well my fmf pipes got rust on them. I used some chrome polish on them that worked good. To be honest if you like muddin (which usally includes trail riding) them the 400ex is a better choice.

 

If you are thinking of a 4 stroke alternative to the banshee, you will be very disappointed with the 400ex. If you go 4stroke, consider a raptor, suzuki Z400, honda 450R, or a yammy YFZ450. If you like speed, these other selections are much better than a relatively mild 400ex.

 

Banshhe is the quad for you, its outdated but it doesn't mind, it still screams[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]. The ex is also a good quad but if you are going to modd the up, the banshee, And isn't the CR250 a two stroke?

After getting off a cr250, a 400ex will feel like your riding a lawnmower.

 

lol a lawnmower aye?? yea i can belive that and the banshee would be pertty sweet i got another ?? how old do u have to be to ride in the dunes or orv trails??

 

I love my Banshee but I just don't want to ride it all day long and everywhere I want to go. Its a real thrill to ride but my 400EX actually gets more use. So I would ask what type of riding are you going to do? Coming off a CR you know what a hot 2-stroke is like. It can be either hell or heaven.
If you are not limited to just one quad then I can say for sure that a 400EX makes a great back-up quad for a modded Banshee. You then have the best of both worlds. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
