The starter on my 97 Warrior has began making a loud bang when I press/release the button and I'm not sure what it is. Anyone have a good guess?

The 1 way starter bearing is mostv likely the problem. If you don't replace it soon, you will notice the starter will sound like it is dragging even more than before. On my old Warrior the knocking got so bad that it would barely start because the backlash on the 1-way was hitting very hard. I replaced the 1 way and the problem went away. It still not perfect like a new machine but it worked. The gear that turns inside the 1 way had some wear on it from the bearing which made it not quite as smooth as new. I didn't feel like dishing out the money for that new gear, i can only imagine it is worth a mint. If you have any more Warrior questions email me.

PS - That 1 way bearing was $160.00 CDN ($75 - $95 US). Plus you need a flywheel puller to pull the flywheel off $55 CDN (20-40 US) - OOUUCH
