BIG BORE KIT ON WOLVERINE
#1
I am thinking of getting a big bore kit for my 2001 wolverine. What is the biggest big bore kit I can get on it. I heard that FST has a 435 kit.

FST goes as big as a 446. Not sure what sizes smaller than that are offered.
I'm in the middle of tearing mine down to send in for the 446 treatment.
There are several other FST Gurues that frequent this forum. I'm sure they will have more info for ya.

So what do you need to do to get a 446 kit on it?

I'm not sure if you can send the whole motor into FST or not. I am going to tear mine down and send in the following:
Head, cam, cylinder, crank, both case halves.
The way I understand it so far, Mickey will take your cam and crank in exchange for the stroked crank and performance cam. He will machine your head, cylinder, and cases (assuming you want him to do the machine work).
I am by no means the FST 446 authority. I've only had one conversation with Mickey so far. I didn't want to pinpoint all the details until I had the motor apart and ready to send to him.
Tearing the motor down is turning out to be quite a challenge...tool wise. Everything they have you doing, following the Yamaha manual, takes a special tool. I've been talking with a couple of guys on here and have picked up some tips for disassembly. I'll have a lot more details on what tools I ended up using once I get this thing apart.

BigBaller - What kind of power are you wanting? Also what do you want your Wolverine to achieve? Understanding that you are only 13 years old, I am sure you will need some major help getting it out and rebuilt. It's heavy so be careful, I moved mine around the building a few times when I was working on it and it was pretty hefty. Tell me what you want it to do, and I can tell you what to do to it from there.
