Default 660 not missing anymore...

With the lid on and 3/4 throttle in 2,3,4 gear my raptor would miss or hiccup every 3-4 seconds. Took the lid off and tried again. This time it ran smooth in all gears full throttle. I assume this indictes that it was not getting enough air before. Except after the lid was off i was in 5th full throttle for 100 yards i pulled in clutch and the motor died. It started right back up, but what would cause it to die?

I'm a little worried about running too lean. What would indicate a lean condition other than plug color?

Thanks,

G.
