the problem with the JEs is that the builder tries to lighten them too much and they crack around the wrist pin. Je redesign that problem almost a year ago. honestly when was the last time you heard of a problem with a newer piston. we use JE and have never had any issues.i'm not here to start a "my buddy said" war i just think people are stuck in the past. JE found the problem and fixed it. we are not the only builder to use them.

Its not a problem with JE as a whole, its a problem with the design and wrist pin of the raptor piston. JE is great, but if you own a raptor you should avoid them like the 01 tranny.

I too will vouch for wiseco. If you are running 11:1 100mm to 102mm I really dont see a better choice. Ross and CP are great but do not have any significant power advantages if any. With the 10.75:1 you may even be losing power, I havent tested them so I cant be sure on this application. The reliability on all is excellent and wiseco is about half the price.
my dad and uncle have the 12.5:1 JE pistons and they have been together and very fast for the last two years...

BUT MY WRIST BIN BROKE CLEAN IN HALF??? not a lightening thing... the wrist pin just broke??? didn't hit a valve or anything... i have a pic still in my pic page...

Dude...they TRIED to fix it 2 times with new designs and failed! They didn't even make a 3rd design and just left it at that, did you not hear about that? My brand new JE just went bad this last summer and JE is still having the same problems with their pistons. Its not an "in the past" probem yet man. If it's an "in the past" problem then why do you still hear about it so often? Dont buy JE!

bubba - madracing knows what he is talking about bro... if he says they've made changes my money is on him??? My dad's and uncles bikes are the older version from 2+ years ago with about 2k runs on them... so They build a good piston, I had a bad one???

We all know JE made changes, I dont think thats being contested. But I believe there have been a few instances of people with redesigned pistons having reliability issues. I cant remember for sure but I had thought that Craycraft itself had run into problems with these "redesigned" units and that attributed to their switch to Ross and eventually CP.
