how many paddles on a 686-727

italian, are those the only paddle that you have ran on your 686? i am currently trying to decide on some different paddles and have heard sometimes less is better. I currently run 21x12x8 10 palddle extremes and my bike pulls them but other than sand skate two's..... there the only paddles ive had! i only run 300ft flat drags and launch is 1st. i get out of the hole like a mad man but when i hit second i have a split second bog like im feeling my bike is overpaddled! I have been talking to a guy that has a set of 21x12x8 extremes that is willing to trade but i dont want to do it not knowing the change i will see if any! Whats your opinions???

I run 22x11x8 10 paddle UL on mine, and it also launches awesome. It has a slight bog(very slight) when hitting 2nd, but the holeshot gained by the tire is worth it. I think maybe a 9 paddle would be perfect. However on the nitrous the 10 paddles don't bog when hitting 2nd. 7 paddle isn't enoug for 300' flat drags. Those are hillshooting tires. Holeshot is everything in 300'!

i run 10 paddle haulers on my 686 and it works good but i wish i would of went with a 8 paddle design. i ride at 8000 to 9000 feet so i lose alot of power at this altitude.

I guess all are a little different...I have 7's and 8's...I just don't use the 8's anymore...I use a second gear launch and I like the tire spin I get from the launch as it builds the r.p.m. alot quicker...by the time I hit third....I'm done...Ten paddles hurt you in the long run as the faster you go...the more your motor has to work to keep pushing all that sand.I would recommend at least an 8 paddle...you will still launch just as hard, no bogging in second gear and at top end it skips over the sand(kind of floating as apposed to digging)...Gearing has alot to do with it...I have +5 swingarm but if I went to a +6, then I would go to an 8 paddle...I run a 13/43 gearing....also...on a second gear launch with a +5...I still can't keep the front wheels on the ground on takeoff....You have to kinda think out of the box with 4 strokes.Just my opinion. No slam to 10 paddles...they all have their place and purpose...but not for drag racing a Raptor....Equal bikes and riders...the 7 paddle will take the 10 paddle every time...(all physics). and only my opinion...(and alot of research)
