Default Riding Boots

Whats the advantage to purchasing the actual atv/dirtbike riding boots over conventional work boots that have steal toe and good ankle support, other than your wallet gets a lot lighter? Instead of buying those boots I just went and bought a pair of work boots with high ankle laces and steal toe, for 30 bucks at walmart that are waterproof too. What did I miss out on by purchasing these.

MIke.

Buying riding boots was the best investment i made so far. Waterproof boots are nice, but they don't come close to riding boots. I stepped off into a puddle/mud hole that was past my knee deep.well everything above my boots was wet, but my feet stayed dry. The extended toe tip makes it super easy to catch the shifter.

The main purpose for riding boots is to protect your foot and ankle and work boots do not protect your ankles. AlpineStar Vectors are very nice!

I like my thor t-30's, Not quite used to shifting with them yet though. Don't clean them with a high pressure hose on the tongue area. The high pressure will remove the plastic cotaing on the tongue. Every time I have ever wrecked I screwed up my ankles or shin. I know these boots will protect me
