They have to make another Blaster because that is the only thing in the 250 class they have. The Banshee will be missed, but it is not necessasry to fill the void with another bike. They already have the Raptor 350.

So they have a 250, 350, 450, and a 660. Until something comes along to thrash their 450, Yamaha really has nothing to worry about.

 

around 2005.5 they are going to eliminate all 2 strokes from the new lineup, that means no more banshees or anything to be produced in 2006, they can make them up to Dec. 31, 2005, but they will prolly stop production early just to be safe... expect the 2006 blaster and banshee to be kinda rare so buy them up quick!!?

 

How do you guys think the yz250f engine would perform in a quad frame? I think if they could make it around the same weight, that thing would move. On the other hand, it may feel the exact opposite of the bike, in the power department, just look what happened when honda took the 400ex engine out of the xr400. Although you can't really compare bikes to quads with the power to weight ratio playing such a big factor.

 

I agree, but if they did that, it wouldn't be a new blaster lol.

 

WOW the raptor 350. there is really no comparison between the raptor 350 and the banshee... except that its got a clutch and its made by yamaha and there both a 350.... um the banshees a 2 stroke.... just a little power difference.... shore the #s the same but other that that theres no comparison.... you cant fill the place of a shee wiht a 350 raptor.
i have nothing against raptor 350s... just incase anyone thought i did

 

hopefully they do make the blaster with the yz250f motor and extend the rear swing arm 2 inches and the front a arms and axle 2 inches. that woudl be nice. and put raptor shocks on it. that wont happen but if it did it would be nice. i cant really see the blaster going out now because they just re designed it but who knows. just as long as it gets a ok motor and doenst become auto clutch and shaft drivin im happy, and it still has to be able to beat a 250 ex. The Banshee has a replacement already, the Raptor. 2 Strokes are like old muscle cars though, they'll be around for a long time and continue to improve.

 

I'd be great to see a manual entry level quad! Everyone out there now (250cc class) is either auto, or semi auto. If they were able to make a miniturized yfz450 those would like hot-cakes! I know i'd sell my blaster to get one of those!

Oh yea keep the kick start... It'd be one of the only ATVs in production with one! and it'd save weight to

 

I have heard this law too.. no more 2 stroke production past Dec. 31st 2005, which absolutley sucks. But, as much as I love Blasters being 2 strokes i think it would be neat to have a YFZ250, like a mini 450, with a YZ250f motor.. I always wanted to try putting that motor into a blaster.. But i couldnt ditch a 2 stroke like that.. i loved it. But yah.. As much as it would suck to have no more 2 strokes it would open up a whole new door for the 250cc class if they were to use the YZ250f.. I get bored riding a 250ex.. One of my bro has one with a pro-circuit T-4 pipe and i still get bored.. I hate not having a clutch also, although.. i love the V-force.. but thats a whole diff. ball game. But yah.. Overall a yfz250 would be awesome.. and i dont think they should call it a blaster.. deff. not.. "The new YFZ250" would make much better.. Be a little bro type of thing.. like those Cobalt-Corvette commercials..

 

i completely agree.those things are wicked fast i've they are 31-34 hp stock that's banshee power.that engine would make a great one for a blaster imo
