Has anyone else heard that after the companies are no longer allowed to produce 2 strokes in 06 or 07 that the Blaster will be continued as a 4 stroke? I heard this from Trenga Racing who specializes in blasters. They said that Yamaha is debating whether to use a 250 motor or a 300. They said it would probably be a 250 since they already have a few motors to choose from in there dirtbike lineup.

 

that would suck. I would imagin they would make a 250 4-stroke and completly re-design it and re-name it.

 

they should make one out of the yz250f that would haul as$, had good suspension, great handling and would rip the competition a new poophole.

 

Yes, my sources tell me the new blaster will be a 4 stroke. I think the engine size is still up in the air, but it is supposed to remain a manual clutch with chain drive.

Exactly.
For what it is, the blaster holds it's own. But if it becomes a 250 four stroke it will be just like the rest of them. It should be at least a 300. This way it gives it the same edge on the competition it already has, as long as they keep it small and lightweight.

 

they wanna go small bc they would control the 250 market, a yz250 motor, with a manual clutch, train drive, decent chassis/ suspension would knock the socks off of the ex and Z 250's.

 

it will be a sad day to see a 4 stroke blaster, mabey not as sad if it rode halfway decent.

If they are making a blaster 4-stroke what about the banshee.....If Banshees turned into 4-strokes then they wouldnt even be able to compete with quads like they do now.
