Default Raptor airbox/intake question

I just got a DMC Alien exhaust. When I put that on, I want to replace the stock air filter. What do you folks suggest? K&N powerlid or a regular K&N coupled with an altered lid? Thanks. Matt

i would take lid off and put the new outer wear cover over it. That looks pretty good or you could just take the hole air box out and hook it straight up with outer wear. You gotta make that choice.... Gl wit it

I would also take the lid off and get a K&N pro flo about $120-$130, remember when you open up the box you'll have to re-jet, you might have to re-jet with that alien anyways? Me, I just took the lid off, It'll run good both ways?? Good luck

i strongly suggest the full pro-flo k&n kit over the K&n that replaces the stock filter. i made this change and had to go up 5 jet sizes by changing air filters only.

Yea, just get the K&N pro-flow system, and take the lid off ( it comes with an outerwear). if you run in wet conditions, get the Outerwears air box cover, it acts like a lid, excepts let air in.

Well if you get your rappy in the mud/water, I suggest the Uni foam filter, but for dirt rides, the K & N with the pro flow, you have to do some drilling but it's not hard, once you install thisyour engine will breathe better, and you will have to re-jet it.

Pro-flow is the way to go.

YFZ660R is right about the filter choices. This will also affect your jetting. I suggest using the outerwear AND your lid. You can drill a couple holes in it and remove the snorkel attached to the lid.

Keeping the lid gives you better protection. I ran with no lid and got sick of finding evidence from an entire ride in the bottom of my airbox.
