Banshee mods at home (porting)??
I have heard of people doing there own porting at home and I have seen some hack jobs. Are you willing to risk screwing up your cylinders and motor for a mangie few hundred bucks that it would cost a Pro to port it for you. Ya you could save some money but if you mess it up then be ready to shell out some cash. Too me this is a no brainer, send it out and don't worry about, The pros no what they are doing.

you can do a relatively good job by yourself... NOT as good as reputable shops but it will be better than stock for sure.
You just need a polishing kit and a drill. If you follow instructions, you wont scrap your cylinders.
But buying a kit, if you pay a few more bucks, you get a professional and EFFICIENT porting job.
I'd do this myself if I had a blaster, not a 2003 Banshee with FMF Gnarly Headpipes, FMF powercore silencers, Wiseco high compression pistons and a single Trinity racing carb.

Porting templates will get you a mild port job. They keep total reliability in mind but they will also make a noticeable difference. Unless you have a steady hand and can manipulate the grinder well, then I would suggest not doing anything but taking out casting flaws and just blending everything together. Many times taking .040 (1mm) or less of material in the wrong place can make a cylinder useless. It's not good to jump into something like that unless you have some experience and the correct tools, and a dremel IS NOT the correct tool.
