Default 25 or 26inch mudlites

I have a bruin 350 4x4 and i want to get some mudlites for it. Should i get 25 or 26 inch mudlites? I dont want to lose alot of power. I ride mostly through trails and some mudholes.

the taller the tire, the more you loose on off the line power. if i were runningmostly trail, i would go with the 25 inch tires. 26 gives a little more gc, but you loose takeoff power.

well, any time you go up from stock, you add a taller gear to your drivetrain. so, if your stock tires are 24 inch, and you go to 25 inch, you gain 1 inch g.c. but loose on gearing. more top end( if the engine can pull it) but you will suffer on takeoff. larger radious to turn. so, if off the line trailing is what your into, then stay with the stock size tires. they are designed for max power to gearing.

The Bruin has 25" from the factory. Going with the same size Mud Lites would give you a lot more agressive tread without changing the gearing along with a lot tougher tread and sidewall.
If you went to 26" Mud Lites you'd have an even more agressive tread (they're quite a bit deeper than the 25") and change the gearing some. You'd lose some bottom end power but gain a few mph top speed. You'd also gain 1/2" ground clearance. Remember, if you go 1" bigger on a tire, 1/2" is above the axle and 1/2" is below it. You'd have to go to a 27" to gain 1" of ground clearance.
I went with 25" on my Wolverine. 1st gear is great for the thick heavy mud and the extra 1" of ground clearance makes a big difference when a lot of people I ride with are running 27" and 28" tires and really hogging out the trails.
Merry Christmas!

An alternate tire to look at is the Maxxis Mud Bug. This tire has the tall lug in the 25" size and is not much heavier than the Mud Lite. For almost a year I used the 25" Mud Lites and was very happy with their ability, much better than stock tires but if I had it to do over again I would get the Mud Bugs in 25".
