Default Glowing exhaust..

I got a new 2005 350 Bruin about 2 months ago. It has not been in for it's first service yet. Last night, my daughter and I were riding about, not fast or slow, and I noticed what I thought was a light on under the front plastic. Upon close examination, it turned out the the first 6 or 8 inches of the exhaust, right at the bend where it comes out of the engine, was glowing cherry red, enough to light up the snow. Really bright. This can't be normal, can it? What do you guys think?

It is running lean. It should be under warranty, have the dealer check it out.

Most people don't even look down there but It is pretty normal when you concider how much temperature is built up in that head.Mine glow also. and so does my wifes Z-400 and my sons Kawasaki 300 Prairie 4x4

Actually you are running to rich. There is too much extra fuel and is not getting burnt. Correct me if I misstated something Outlawlawndragster.

I beleive it is to lean as well. Alot of time machines will run leaner in the cold weather, but without any mods your machine should not be that sensative to the temperature change. I would take it in and see if they can check and or re-jet the carb.

Thanks, guys. Very fast replies!! It appears that it is either too rich, too lean, or normal!!?? It has probably been doing this since I got it, but I had never ridden it at night before, and didn't notice it. I did check my Kawasaki Prarie 300 4x4 that I was riding at the same time and it was not glowing.

I am scheduled to take it in to the dealer next week for it's first service, and will indeed ask them about it. But unless the wheels are falling off I am sure they will declare it "normal"!

My piped raptor always glows red at night and I had it installed by the people at ALBA action that designed the exhaust. They said a red pipe is normal. I have not had any problems. Some bikes pipes just glow...

too lean can damage your motor

if its glowing so bright,,,,like you describe,,,,,,you are probably running a bit too hot

be careful
