The 400 ex shock is piggyback, so mounting it will require you to remove the airbox snorkle, or run a aftermarket airbox. Both the 400ex, and the 250R shock require some modification to make them work. The problem is that the bushings are not big enough for the pins to fit through, so you will need to make new bushings.

with the 400EX's piggyback resorvoir, can you mounth the shock in any other way to prevent any further modifications?
is it possible to mount it upside down or backwards or something?

where can i get bushings for the shocks, or do i have to fabricate my own

All you have to do is remove the snorkle, which is no biggie.
You need to make the bushings, which is a pain in the azz. If you can find someone who has it done then you can get the size and maybe track some bushings down at a store or auto place.

ok, ive got 40 minutes to make my decision, 250r rear or 400ex rear? it sounds like the 400ex would be better, because all i'd need to do is take the snorkle off, but im not sure if its the right decision. can anyone please give me an answer ASAP??? i need to outbid this guy!!
