Default One more time: banshee and 400ex shocks on a blaster.

I need some tips, and opinions on this before i throw my christmas money out the window. I am trying to find some banshee shocks on ebay, and i will buy them. The problem is that i took the shocks off our banshee and tried toput them on the blaster. It was extremely hard, and i couldnt do it. we need to compress the shock a little more than a half an inch to get them in, does this mean they wont fit? or we just need to get some buddies over here and compress them down? Also, we compressed the shock and moved the notch down so its 2 from the lowest setting, should we try to make it the lowest? (aka making it stiffer?)How much higher is it going to sit after this? i was thinking that i need to lower it, but i dont want to buy a lowering kit, so i will just make it wider.

thats for the front^^, for the rear im stuck on getting a 250r shock or a 400ex shock. Ive been told that the 400ex shock is nicer than the 250r shock, but ive looked at a couple and i noticed that the rezzie is mounted right on the shock, sideways, am i going to have clearance problems? The 250r shocks have hoses so i could mount the rezzie on the frame, which do you guys think i should do? i took my blaster over some pretty big jumps today, and it was harsh so i want to do this FOR SURE NOW. Can anyone give me any advice?
