Default Clicking on Grizzly 660 startup

Someone else posted a problem like this once but I couldn't find it to fix the prob. I know that it is a problem a few have experienced but I'm not sure what to tear into. It some times does it but not always, and eventually it will start. And no it not the battery. If anyone else had this problem can you post the remedy. Thanks!

How do you know its not the battery? Was it load tested, and found good?

Could be a loose connection, or a high resistance connection.

there's a starter relay under your seat...when you first turn the key on you can here the relay click...if it doens't then your starter relay could be faulty or the connections possible corroded...good luck

Are the battery cables dirty or loose?

All the connections are all nice and clean. Battery has not been tested but its been doing this for a while and its an 03, so the batt. isn't very old. And the lights are very bright yet. And it does click when the key is turned on. I haven't checked the ground yet, the wheelers a sloppy mess right now. I'll get it all cleaned up tomorrow and try that. I just thought that it may be a common prob on some of the Grizzly's

Just because the battery is two years old, doesnt confirm its good. Take the battery to napa or auto zone, and theyll do a load test for free. This is a common problem on all big bores, and its almost always the battery.

I had the same problem on my 04 Grizz. It was a bad Neg connection on the Batt.

I had the same problem with my 04 grizz. Like the post before me, check the negative cable. I took it off the battery to the first breaker/fuse and applied solder to both ends and my problems was solved. the ends are just crimped and even though they look fine it was the problem.

My new 05 Grizzly did the same thing only a month after I got it. I installed the winch myself so I assumed it was something I did and not the battery. Well after a lot of screwing around and not figuring it out I took the battery up to the dealer to be tested. It was bad (month old!) and they gave me a new one. No problems since. So go get the battery load tested by a real battery analysis machine, cause using a voltmeter to check it will not tell you if it is bad or not. (As I found out).
