Default Raptor Parking Brake

Why is my parking brake needing adjustment every other time I take it out for a ride, I got an 05', everything is new?

that ancient design is garbage

if you keep it in adjustment,,,,,you will burn thru brake pads

best advice is to remove the parking brake and get yourself a simpler clutch perch and a blockoff plate for the rear caliper

drops weight and aggrevation

do a search of the yamaha forum under 'parking'

Default Raptor Parking Brake

what do you mean needs adjusting? Mine works fine and ive never adjusted it, it doesnt lock up the tires, but its byfar enough to keep it from sliding down a hill.

no my buddy has an 04 blaster.. one with hydrolic(sp?) brakes RIGHT off a raptor [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img] ssoo they are identicle.. but i guess when you've never done it b4 it takes a lil longer eh?

i forgot they converted those

Default Raptor Parking Brake

I have to have a parking brake, Taking it off is not an option. Everytime I use the parking brake, it works for a couple of rides...then, after that, it feels like it is backing off...it won't hold the ATV from moving.

If you HAVE to have the parking brake, then you will HAVE to keep adjusting it.

Getting rid of it was the best thing I done with my parking brake. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
