Default Blaster kick start went out

I was riding my blaster today and my kick start was acting up. First it wouldent come back up when i kicked it, i had to bring it up with my hand. That happened about three times, but i got it started, then i decided to ride it one last time and when i stop it, i went to start it again the kick start went out. i can push it down with my finger. what do you think is wrong?

Sounds like you have lost compression, which will only take a top end rebuild.

.....It should be pretty cheap, unless it requires boring, which you wont know until you take the head off.

Sounds more like the spring or gear (or both) on the kickstarter went out. It's been a while since I've had a Blaster so I forget the type of setup it has.
Can you still push start it and it runs okay?

Wow, with all the Blaster owners out here I thought you'd get another reply to this by now.
Anyone have their kicker go out? Stripped gear is still what I'm thinking.
Go to PartsFish and enter the info your your Blaster. You can look at the exploded views for the parts then. It should be listed on the "Starter Clutch" page.

I don't think it's the gear itself, but there is a spring that could have broke. There is a spring that goes on the kick start gear that catches the gear and makes it spin. Haul the clutch cover off and take a look inside, you should be able to see anything wrong from there.

He said he can push it down with his finger. When my bike lost compression, thats what happened, so I just put it out there as a suggestion.

my kickstarter doesnt engage sometimes, but it only takes like 2 half kicks to get it to engage, then it will start 1st kick.

having a little experince with kick starts, i belive they all have a little splined shaft that sticks out from the case and then the kick starter has more little splines that lock up with the ones on the shaft, the nut that tightens the kickstarter to the shaft may have come loose and is just sliding on the shaft, just take a look at it for any thing loose at the bottom of the kick start rod thing
