RoostQueen..if you were referring to my previous post about all your mods to your Barracuda..I just couldn't remember them all. Don't they have a barracudaconnection.com where you could list all your mods etc. Maybe there you can have your Banshee on your signature too.

And your comment about people buying Hondas so they don't have to work on them is dead on. I buy Honda because they're reliable and I can ride it every day, not work on them every day...bye the way do you own an R1?? I doubt it...you probably have a Harley so you can work on that too. Right? Since Harley targets you mechanical Gods out there.

And who isn't dissapointed that there's no new 650EX or 250R?? But that shouldn't take ANYTHING away from the 250EX.

Cstark,
This is the whole jist of my post. Its not that the 250ex is a bad machine, on the contrary I expect it to be quite a nice ride for those it is intended for and Honda reliable as well. I guess I am dissapointed that Honda, being the market leader in sales, cannot or will not get back into the high performance, other than the 400ex of course. Why can they not at least give the 400 a bit more power if they are not going to come out with the much hoped for 650ex? I guess when you would like to see something from a quality company and then see them go in the opposite direction with the 250ex, it tends to bring out the cynicism is some of us.

SPAZZ
MAn your just a bit uptight over my signature!! I put the Barracuda in there because most quad addicts are all around motor sports addicts as well. No, I dont think I could beat your F-4 with this car, but it is undoubtebley going to be much cooler...So if your only into quads, good for you, but some of us are multifaceted/multi talented. At any rate, again I never said the 250ex was going to be junk, I, and many others, believe Honda should try to retake their title of King of High performance currently available quads...

Geezzz, Honda is now getting into the PWC market. It's been hot for only the last 12 years and now they think they can hang with Sea-Doo, Yamaha and Kawasaki.......quit hitting that snooze button.

RoostKing,

I understand your point completely. I just get ticked when people call stuff junk because it doesn't appeal too them.
True, the 250EX does not make me drool all over myself. But my girlfriend is very interested in getting into the sport. And I think we just found a machine that fits her. We will soon see after she test drives one after they hit the showroom floors.

I'm sorry if I offened you......

ALL THE NEW MODELS ARE JUNK; HONDAS AND YAMAHAS INCLUDED! Until ATV's get the same development and support as PWC, dirtbikes, and snowmachines, the whole ATv market is a joke. I think it is a complete insult to everyone who rides/owns/buys an ATV that year after year dirtbikes get all the R&D and quads get old technology, yes the Raptor is immpressive (I own one plus a couple of Banshees) but is crap when compared to the 426 motor in a dirtbike, an average 250 motor in any modern dirtbike makes any quad motor look like crap, and just go and compare the rear shock on a new YZ dirtbike to a Raptors rear shock, no comparison, no high/low speed adj. on the Raptor thats for sure, oh well maybe one day ATV's will get the same treatment as the rest of the motorized world!

what i`m about to say may upset some of you but GET OVER IT
lets all just face it honda is in a sport/high performance slump right now honda is aiming for total market domination but befor they do that they need to get their act together with a 650 and a 660 on the market now and rumers of a big bore two or four stroke from polaris #1 in sales in NOT goimg to last long for honda

i added something to my signatuer just for those making fun of roost king

First of all, Honda never said that they were coming out with a sport Quad. The dealers were spreading rumors, to get you guys not to buy the Raptor. They made a smart choice in making the 250, because they want to make money, there is only a small percentage of people who want sport Quads, the rest want trail bikes and entry level Quads. Honda doesn't just whip together a Quad, they take a lot of time so that they know it won't be geared too high or a-arms won't break, maybe Yamaha should learn from Honda and not put together a Quad so fast. I am sure that when Honda comes out with there sport Quad,(some day), it will be the fastest. They won't tell everybody it is the fastest Quad, and later have it get beat by the DS 650 or the Banshee.

(No such thing as that 325, 327 maybe?)
I dunno... I would't get the 250EX, even if I rode woods or something. I'll give it to Honda that they did make an easy, (probably) low maintenance quad, but I don't think they needed to, they have the Recon. About a high performance quad from Honda, I'm not getting my hopes up for a 2002 model. Sure it'd be nice to see one, but they seem to be doing well with their 400EX, for now.

The name of the game is:TOTAL MARKET SATURATION.
Back in april I sat through a lecture on long term market analisis. At that time market standings for atv type machines were as follows:
28% HONDA
27% POLARIS
26% YAMAHA
5% ARTIC CAT
2% BOMBARDIER
12% OTHER

THE STUDY THAT WAS PROPOSED TO US IMPLIED THAT IN 7 YEARS THE MARKET WOULD BE FLODED AND THAT COMPITITION WOULD BE FIERSE. THEN THE BIG 3 WILL HAVE TO RELY ON CUSTOMERS WHO USE THEM AS A RIGHT OFF.
