Default Wolverine engine upgrades

I think I've decided to get a wolverine vs. the big bear. I know almost immediately I'd like to do the warn 242 conversion and put some 25" tires on it. I'm in Denver, CO, so the altitude even in the foothills is 6000 ft. I'll be riding up to even 12 or 13,000 feet, so I know I"m going to need some extra umph from the engine. What is the cheap way to start, and what else do I want to start saving for? I honestly think I'll probably have enough hp for what I need, but I'm gunna want more torque for sure. Is there a disadvantage to gearing it down a tooth or two? I don't care as much about top speed. I'm never going to have room to go more than 40 or 50 for sure.

I looked all over the net for a big boar kit, but couldn't find one. I'm sure it would be expensive, but sure would be fun. Anything else cheaper I can do in the meantime?

Also, what else might I want to do other than changing jetting to high altitude before I take it out.

Thanks Guys!

Mike

Thumper, why dont you just call Mickey back and ask him about building the Wolverine. Looks like he already did a Scrambler for you. Look at my sig. He has low budget builds too.
