Default Wolverine Warn 424 info and pictures of mounting position of the control ****

Look at my page for pictures of the control **** mounting position.

The Warn instructions say to mount the controller to the plastic. I think this is a pretty poor location. I decided to mount mine close to the bars using an existing hole. I got this idea from another member a while back. Anyway, I used a longer bolt, some washers, and I added an extra nut on the under side of the factory welded nut for improved stability. I used the flat washers to space the bracket away from the plastic. I also had to file down the warn mounting bracket to make it fit without rubbing the plastic.

It works great and looks good too.

As for clearance: The black plastic piece on the bars does touch the warn bracket when making extreme left hand turns. The black plastic is very flexible and is not bothered by the warn hardware.

Hope this helps

I have taken a look at your page but I can't seem to find the photos of the mounting?

Have they been taken off your page? I'm new to the site so maybe I'm doing something wrong but I did see your other photos just not any of the mounting for the 424.

I have my 424 in the box ready to install and was looking for good mounting information.

Thanks,
rkmartin7

I have the pics madwolverine is talking about if you want them. I copied his set-up when I installed my 424. I downloaded the pics and saved them. If you want you can pm me with your e-mail address and I'll send them to you.
