Does anyone know where I can get a moderately priced oil cooler for my warrior?

at the parts store, pick up a small tranny cooler and use that, you have to tap into the side case and run lines but its well worth it if you have some serious mods, or a high comp piston.

The oil cooler is like a radiator for your oil, what it does is drop oil temps in your motor, keeping you from overheating. On a stock motor its not really necessary, it will just give you more portection and make your motor last longer. You can find a cheap tranny cooler for around 30 bucks and then with the lines and fitting have a full kit ready to go for around 50-60 bucks.

Tap the case?!!! All you need is a oil filter cover assembly from a 95' big bear. It will cost around 100 to 120 but it beats the risk and complications of tapping the case. To see what it looks like look at my page. The assembly consists of:

1 large piece that goes between the cap and the case
1 black cap with the threads for the two oil lines
1 circlip (with a pair of snapring pliers to install it into the cap)
1 washer
1 plug
1 spring
2 identical orings for the two large pieces

You can most easily see the cap assembly on the alba oem part finder, and they have good prices for the parts too.

Other than these it's just fittings for the lines to attach to the cap, the cooler, and some nylon zip ties. It's very easy to do, and all you really need is the time to do it. Some trimming of the hood should be done to fit the cooler the best, and also allow the air current to pass through the cooler better.

For a cooler you can get boxhead's type or I use the Hayden Part #401 Tranny Oil cooler from Autozone for about 30 bucks > Hayden Oil Cooler. I would not tap the case if you are going to put a cooler on get the big bear parts and just use the bolt on method there is almost no risk involved this way. If you would like pictures of what this cooler looks like just let me know and I will post some here. This cooler lowers your oil temp up to 50*F X_X!

O.K., Thanx. D3afhshadow, if you could post those pictures it would be great. Also, I know a guy who is parting out a '98 and '94 Wolverine would the oil filter cover off of either one of these work? Thanx again.
