Warrior Oil Cooler

I'd rather keep the clutch cool, a thinner full synthetic oil will protect the head plenty enough. 10-40 synthetic works great for high rpm riding from a quicker flow. The original big bear cooler was intended to cool the clutch especially for uphills and when you really get the engine working. With a six speed trans and another gear to work with the clutch will be used frequently during sport riding.

When you install the cap you have to just grab the shifter at end with your hand and bend it out about half a cm or so. It will just barely rub one of the bolts on the cap, but bending it to obtain some clearance won't even be noticeable. Yeah, you will need just the internal parts to the big bear cap, which is just the plug, spring, washer, and the circlip. The circlip will need to be compressed and placed inside the large metal piece that attaches between the case and cap. That circlip will hold the washer against it, which is the backrest for the spring, and the spring will hold the plug compressed against the hole. Just look at the exploded drawing on alba and you'll see how to put these components together. The two orings are to go between the cap and middle piece, and case and middle piece. You'll need the three bolts that bolt the whole assembly to the case as well, they have to be much longer than the warriors to go through the much thicker cap. Two bolts are the same, and one is longer that has to go in a specific hole. You'll see this on alba also. As for the filter you only need the stock warrior one. I'm not sure about the wolverine, but you can compare it to the big bear components by adding them to your cart and seeing what the serial numbers are. More than likely there is some kind of difference. In short you will need all the components from the case to the outmost cap. Be sure to buy the spring, washer, plug, circlip, large middle piece on cap, black outmost cap, two identical hex mounting bolts for cap, single different mounting hex bolt for cap, and the two orings. The cooler, oil line, and fittings to go from the cap to the oil lines are completely your custom ideas, and you can use whatever you want. Here's the numbers on the alba list to order and their quantities:
14x1, 15x1, 16x1, 17x1, 18x1, 19x1, 22x2, 23x1, 24x2
The quantities to order are also on the alba list if you just want to write down the numbers of the parts.
Parts 15 through 18 are the pieces that install inside of 14, which you need snapring pliers for. Follow the alba diagram to see the order they go in there and you'll see the engraved slot in there that the ring snaps into. All of those parts are to let oil bypass the cooler until it is warm and thin enough, and also in case the passage was ever blocked. That is one thing you can't achieve with the case drilling method, the top end will be choked for oil since there is no bypass for the still cool and thick oil trying to go through the thin lines. The hell with dunlop's idea!!! That and making the clutch more bulletproof are the ideas yamaha had when designing the big bear cap. Once you receive the cap you'll see how interesting the cap really is, it's simple but complex in function at the same time. The case drilling is simple and cheap, but potentially very hazardous to do.
