I recently withnessed a 04 yfz and a 01 raptor drag race on pavement from a dead stop to top speed. The yfz pulled ahead on the initial take off but the raptor was not too far behind. Once they hit 5th gear the raptor took the lead. They were both bone stock machines and the riders were almost identical in size. The raptor rider actually did a better job off the line but the yfz still pulled ahead in the lower gears.

this is so f**king stupid. how cares which is faster top end if you race actual race you will never see it anyways. And aything can be made fast if you have the pocketbook for it. When i finish my tecate 3 drag bike the only thing thats gonna be able to out run me is a shee! No crappy *** honda will come close! if it does then i will sell it.

sportrax450R- raptors are more than just good trail machines. they have some major torque. why are all your posts so negative?

i have one quick question. what is the 3 technical letters (dont know what they are really called) for the banshee. like a warrior is a YFM warrior. i think ive heard that its yfz 350 banshee but i just wanted to clear that up.

a lot of the atvs like the yfz, raptor, DS, trx, etc. are so close in top speed (stock) that you cant really tell a difference. what matters most is acceleration and that goes to the yfz imo.
