o and they're all so close in speed, it prolly all depends on terrain and elevation and what now. also u gotta figure they cant go over a certain speed anyway, so i would assume they're all within a mile an hour not 5

Mr. Ignorace speaks again...All you do is bash the raptor. The Raptor is not a slow machine...You make it sound like a warrior will beat it. Your digging yourself a deaper hole the more you speak. Ive raced many 450's at elmirage dry lake bed and the raptor is faster topend no contest. Why would they give MX quads like the 450's gearing for top end? THEY DONT NEED TOP END SPEED! The 450s will pull away off the line but the raptor will catch them very quickly around 3rd or fourth then pass them through 5th.

 

The raptor has enough torque to make your fingers want to fall off from holding on. But hey Ill bet you have never even ridden a raptor let alone even seen one....

 

o please. my quadzilla will smoke a raptor up and down, and THAT wont pull my fingers off. (jerking) and a 450 has the same speed sorry. well atleast close enough that a 1/4 mile dosent let it a banshee or predator pass them

 

You arent talking all big and bad now cause you know your wrong...Your using words like prolly (which means probably for people that passed english class). Quads do not have a MPH limiter, the only thing they have is a REV limiter. The raptors gearing enables the quad to go much faster top speed before it hits the REV limiter. With the YFZ/450R's gearing you will find yourself hitting the REV limiter much faster than that of the raptor. The YFZ has a lot tighter gearing for acceleration while the raptor has a broader spectrum gearing wise which in turn makes the raptor faster top end. Thats fact. Call Yamaha and ask them, Call any dealer and ask them. They will all tell you the 450 is made for the track hence the fast accelleration/ slow top speed.

 

Actually Ive also raced a quadzilla and yes it blew me away off the line but my raptor still was faster on top end and eventually caught back up to him. The guy riding the quadzilla was amazed it was funny.
