No, there are no battery issues with the yamaha raptor. There have been some one-way problems but it seems to be a hit and miss thing, also the 04 model supposedly had some changes to it.

if you ask the people that have problems is because they probably only turn on their quad every year for thanksgiving. but you can use a batery tender that keeps your batery alive, its around 30 bucks on ebay.

Battery Tenders are about 15 bucks at WALMART Everybody should own one!! they work.
Maddogg is right, The 450 is sold in a much higher state of tune, then the Rappy. The potential for the rappy is WAY HIGH. But if you want a good quad that has all the motor work done for you, then the 450 is better deal. IMO.
Bigger.

The raptors (especially the california models) have really bad exhaust/airfilter setups. Replace these 2 things and you will be running 45-50 HP

The model #'s are as follows:

Wow, you must be Einstien. No CA models? Hmmm, then why does Alan Knowles from CT state that their test quad that only made 36 hp stock was a CA model and then after their pipe/filter/jet mods, it makes almost 50 hp? Go to their website and look at the Raptor section - you'll find it at ctracing.com.
If you are going to make some sort of statement dissing another person on this board, or come back with some remark about their age, then please back it up with some verifiable data. Just stating that there is or isn't something, or other simple opinion won't cut it.
Otherwise, it appears that you may be the one that really doesn't know what you're talking about or that you are not as experienced or as old as you pretend to be...
So who do you own??? Yeah, that's what I thought...
