Default Putting Raptor rear shock on Warrior

I just got a hold of an 01 Raptor rear shock. I was wondering if it's necessary to turn the banjo fittings on the rezzy and the shock so that the rezzy can be mounted to the right side of the frame? I keep hearing if you mount it on the left the chain will chew the crap outta the rez. Does anyone have the easier method for mounting the rezzy?
