I have two Raptors and a Z400 and for trail riding you'll want that Raptor with the low end torque you'll do less shifting because of the wide power band. the YFZ is just an all out rocket that begs to be driven fast, it's an MX bike only in my opinon. Belive me you'll want the reverse after riding for hours and you get stuck in the mud or sand. Anybody saying who needs reverse probably never had it, would you want a car with no reverse? You can still push the car if you put it in nuetral! Anyway the reason a YFZ has no reverse is to save weight because it's a RACE BIKE! The Z400 is a very good all around quad that can be made into a race bike but lacks the low end tourqe that the Yamaha's have. It's your choice to be made.
