it's a turbo 700 auto right now, but that's changing soon, i don't like autos, manuals are awesome, even though an auto will gain on you every time you shift in a drag. i used the transfer case that was in the truck when i got it, so i has to be a factory tcase...i didn't mean to b*tch you out about the headers, i just thought you'd know, manifolds don't drop down that far and don't look anything like my headers do, i'm going to be changing my carburator soon, Holleys suck man, the stock Quadrajets opened up better than these p.o.s., i think i'm either going with a Barry Grant Demon carb or a DaVinci racing carb, i'm probably going with a 800+cfm. oh yeah i have brand new exhaust that i just had put on in August, it didn't even start rusting yet. it's a TRUE dual setup. dual 3 inch exhausts with Summit Racing glasspacks, 3 1/4" Chrome tips, and 2 hollowed out cats that i did myself, damn EPA, makin us put catalytic converters on our vehicles and the older vehicles didn't even come stock with cats, here in PA any vehicle 75-up has to have cats on them, some counties even have emissions tests, luckily my county don't so i lucked out

hey nichelsonracing, way to give'em he!!. love the chevies too, have a '77 ( with verticle lights lol) w/ 4" superlift, 35's, and some goodies under the hood. its good to see someone of your age working for what u got. too many young ppl expect things to be handed to them. then they don't appreciate what they have. after all, it didn't come out of their pockets. in ur bio you said you race. any xc? if so where. i know of a few ppl looking for tracks to run at. thanx
thanks man, i appreciate you giving me credit about working for what i have, and yes most teenagers expect to have everything handed to them, hell my parents make me pay my own insurance which is about 250 bucks a month, damn State Farm Insurance is expensive, so that takes away from so other stuff i could spend it on, but i like to drive so i pay the insurance and everything the vehicles need. now about racing i race a little bit of everything, my past few years were just here and there races, not a full season, because i didn't have my license back then and with the parents working i had no way to get there, but this year is going to be a full season, i'm hoping to get my 250R back together, because a friend of mine is going to race the Full Throttle Series around here, and he told me the 1st race of that series is i think March 20th at R&D Raceway. also there are many other tracks to run at, a local track about 15 miles from my house up on the mountain is Roaring ****, it's one rough a$$ track, they have a hill almost straight down with almost a 90 degree bend at the bottom and back up another bada$$ hill.

peace out guys

Hey man i like it, of course i love the old ones, its got some sort of lift i can tell by the front leaf spring arch. Im not much of a Chevy man im mainly Ford, but hey if their old, and in good shape, i love'em, I drive a 79 Ford F350, Regular Cab, 4x4, Dark green with American eagle alloy wheels and a 400Modified, ill have to post pics of it sometime, but Im glad u posted, glad to see that old truck still being drove. and as far as switchin it to the manual, I did it to my ford about a year ago, Be prepared for a project, i had to have stuff i never dreamed of needin, lol.

mustangs are junk, cheap to make em go fast too, at my local drag strip, the 5.0 gt run anywhere to a 10 to a 16, depends on the driver and they dont have much more than maybe 2 or 3 grand on the high side in the car, mustangs do not impress me at all, they are as bad as honda civics, everyone and there grandma has one, chevy has always been better, ford has to super charge there V-8 just to run with chevy's ls-1 not to metion the ls-6 (zo6) and the new ones ford should not even try to race, lol, my stealth is a twin turbo and factory i ran a 13.6 in the 1/4 and with what i have done to my car now i should be a 12 to a maybe a 10 i dunno, but i can tell you this take your 10 second mustang and put it up against my stealth around a track and i will spank that little mustang plus beat in the 1/4,

Nichelson, you are absolutly correct, for some reason, i was thinking when the new body styles were introduced.
Any way, My truck was only lifted about an inch or two, it just had a few added leafs for increased load capicity.
That thing was a beast none the less, aside from the fact that it leaked more oil than it burnt gas,(rear main seal gone) it was trouble free for the most part, when i finally got rid of it, it had over 400k on the original, unrebuilt 350 and th350 tranny. Even the quadrabog was original... lol My truck was participating in the constant weight reduction program.... also known as rust, and i had to go and put a 96 chevy bed on it, suprisingly, it looked pretty good..

still 700s arnt strong to begin with. id be afraid to have over 300 hp and wheel wiht it.imo the strongest stock tranny is the t400 from gm. not counting the alis 1000.

nice looking truck there. personally im more of a fan of ford, but chevies work fine too...
i just have to wonder what my 350 would look like with a 6in lift with those tires...

my friend has 12 in lift on his toyota pickup, but with the 303 in it, it can barely turn the 35in tires it has....
