Default raptor neutral light?

here's two questions about the neutral light on a raptor. first, my buddy was riding along with us today on the raptor and all of a sudden, the neutral light starts blinking along with the headlights. anyone know why? im wondering if its a sign just like the reverse light blinking for over revving? cant seem to find it anywhere on here either. also, this is on a totally different raptor. the raptor was rebuilt with a new tranny, yet the neutral light stays on constantly even throughout shifting in every gear, what would cause this?

Default raptor neutral light?

yamaha uses a neutral relay. When the bike is shifted into neutral there is a switch by the shifter that is closed and sends a signal to the relay. (possibly located above the left rear wheel next to another relay.) I recommend getting a wiring schematic. THe dealers will sell or share them. If you can't locate one email me. I also would suspect a bad main line connection such as the main fuse holder to cause the blinking. A porrly installed nuetral switch or a bad nuetral switch could keep the light on along with relay going bad.

Yeah im going to let him know. The weird thing about it is that the lights and the neutral light go along in perfect sync. On/off/on/off there's no "loose connection" symptoms on it so it just seemed like maybe its a signal for a problem. At any rate ill run along the wires and check it. thanks a lot.

Very interesting, Im sure its something he did. did he put the sensor wires back on the motor in the right spots ? (neutral and reverse sensors hook up different so its not really possible unless they were cut and rewired)
