what could be the reason my warrior backfires on deceleration?

its jetting is too lean cuz of the cold, go bigger on ur pilot jet in ur carb

Could also be an air leak in the intake or the exhaust. Even old gas, or oxygenated gas will do it .
Try going 1/4 to 1/2 turn richer (out) on the mixture screw.
