Default Yamaha Raptor 660R

My dad just bought me a 2005 Raptor 660R about a week ago. I have completly fell in love with it. It is my first quad with a manual tranny in it, and I would like to try out some X-country racing. First, I would like to get some mods for it, I want it to accelerate faster, but still have either the same top end or better. Im thinkin I want to get a pipe and airfilter first, then work from there. Any info on good pipes/filters for a Raptor 660?

go to a 12 tooth front sprocket, if u want awesome accel, and you will lose less than 5 mph total top end which i will gain back with a pipe. i suggest a pro-design filter and as far as a pipe, every person who responds is going to recommend a different pipe. i have HMF and felt it gave me strong gains all over the RPM band. everyperson will say the same about their pipe and why its the absolute bets pipe out there, happens everytime. most pipes are well worth the price and will do an awesome job on the rappy. good luck and mod away-----Rider1169

you want to wake that raptor up, leave the sprockets alone, buy a pro-design K&N, Jet kit and pipe

for the pipe if you want to keep the same top end( Even though stock raptor has no top end, its power dies at like 7k)

Sparks x-6
ct racing
yoshimura

in that order

I informed you incorrectly, on a stock raptor expect to hit max h.p right at 6k, thats low with my work done and my dyno number(check pics) i hit max h.p. at 7000 ish rpm. but if you look at how long it carries that powerband for thats what you want, and no pipe alone is going to provide you with, thats a aftermarket cam at work, my friend

Stock raptor, peak h.p 6000 RPM
i dies off rapidly at 7000rpm.

still recommend the sparks

You can get "power kits" that have the slip on, proflow and jetting. I have a e-series, I quite like it

The other day I went out riding, and finally had the ***** to go full throttle. I hit 67.4 MPH, is that normal for a 2005 Raptor660R?
