Default New parts...

Hey, new to the forum and this is my first post. I'm away with the military right now but I will be home soon, and just ordered a bunch of new parts for my 04 Raptor. It will be like Christmas when I get home (especially since I missed it!) I rode the machine completely stock last season except for Renthal handlebars, and 2 grab bar changes due to my inability to leave the front wheels on the ground.
-Yosh full Comp stainless
-Proflow/K&N/Dynojet/Outerwear
-Hot Cams Stage1
-Armadillo .250 Swing guard
-Douglas .190 aluminum/Maxxis Razr2's all around
-PRM side bars
-PRM baha bumper
-PRM grab bar
-Raptor manual
-Durablue +2 axle
Soon to come will be suspension, +2 A-arms and shocks. For shocks I was thinking Elka Rec's. Anyone have these? Also, I've seen people using YFZ450 shocks for the front with A-arms. Is that setup effective? Thanks.

get PEP's, Axis, or TCS, Elka is ok, but they are overated and overpriced, i have PEP shocks on my 250R and they work great, they are a little pricey, but you won't be disapointed, you might hear rumors of PEP shocks rusting at the top, but those are riders who don't take much time to care for their machine, my PEP's still look like brand new, that's because i take time and pride in keeping things nice. Elka is on the same level as Ohlins shocks

If you had a blast with your stock raptor power, you will defenatly love the gains given by the mods bought. With the axle, you will feel wider which is great. For shocks, Elka's are good, but there is better one's like PEP, and Custom Axis, which are my favorites. Ride safely, enjoy your riding, welcome to the forums, and thank you for your service!

..... Pics of your Raptor would be really nice too

but they are overated and overpriced,
what isnt overated and overpriced in the ATV parts dept

the only beef I have against Elka is that they are not Made in the USA

otherwise, fantastic product

be safe and you will have a great ride waiting for you when you get back

Yeah, I will snap pics of before and after when I get home. The machine will need a little TLC when I get back, last year it saw alot of bashing. I can't wait to get home and start wrenching.
I will look into the PEP, Axis, and TCS for the shocks, thanks.
I def had some fun with the stock raptor performance, and can't wait to ride it with the mods. I've heard that a pipe, jet and filter really wake it up. I seemed to have somewhat of a freak to begin with...probably the first time I was ever lucky enough to get something with a stronger than normal engine.
Hey voodoo, I like your avatar...

Haven't updated for awhile, been busy. I installed everything so far but the cam, and the thing runs like a raped date. First gear is now unmanageable powerwise. I love it. I need to mess with jetting some but I think it's close.

Mains:160-165 Dynojet
Needles:4th clip Dynojet
Screws:3 turns
No airbox top

The machine like I said is disgusting fast, although it pops after letting off throttle on decel. I am going to try 3 1/2 or 4 turns on the screws, and hopefully problem cures. If not I will up the pilot jet. The pipe glows a little red at idle, but not while moving and has not turned blue at all upon cooling, just a nice gold. I will post pics as soon as I get the chance.

Oh yeah, If anyone has been contemplating the PRM sidebars, GET THEM. They are off the meatrack.
