Are the Raptors going to be recalled

Yamaraptor,
Arent you just a wee bit defensive. I am interested in these problems I almost put my 99 Banshee up for sale to buy a Raptor, but now Im goint to wait and see what happens. Just in case the bent A arm problem is not isolated (which I still believe it is). So guys, even if there are some Honda guys sabatoging keep your heads up, you know you have an awesome machine!!

If people would stop crashing, parts would stop bending!! I'm tired of seeing post with people saying yea I'm on my third frame. Quads are made to drive UP the hill, NOT ROLL DOWN THEM!! My blaster frame is over 5 years old. The paint looks like crap, but there are no bends or cracks. I ride just as hard as anyone else, big jumps, steep hill climbs, and a lot off rough trails (Wellsville).

Thanks for trying to clear that up for us, but, a lot of people who own quads crash. In fact, if you have never crashed and bent/broken something, maybe you really are not riding as hard as you think. For me, when somebody says I don't think we can climb that hill, I set out to climb it. There are many people who ride like that. Or, maybe you are just the greatest rider in the world.
Anyhow, most of the posts concerning damage state that they did not crash.

Guys, time to start drinking decaf. Sheesh. It's a bit touchy around here. Insults, name calling and arguing because someone reports a problem with their new ride or doesn't completely agree with your opinion...
Time to relax, think before you post, it will be a much better place for all of us. Every Raptor post I read turns to a flame war somewhere along the line... Surely, people that are old enough to own a bike as large and powerful as a Raptor have the maturity to deal with a few trolls.
Hopefully some of you won't feel the need to flame me because you see the 400EX in my sig. I'm just another rider that likes reading and gathering info on what's out there in the sport world. If you remember, I'm the one that gathered all the info and built the webpage for the Raptor with many of the specs, long before anything officially came out..
Try not being so obviously defensive and combative, it only attracts more of the same.
Sorry for the sermon, but this is getting really old....

Hey Ridzhard,
I too have bent axles on my Warrior. Also 16 ft doubles aren't that tough either. I've crack my frame jumping a 40 ft Tabletop and clearing it and landing on the flat rather then the back side of the jump. Also Durablue seem to be working great for me also. Reply with an email and I send a picture of the 40 ft Tabletop.

I will have to slightly disagree with this. Now the truth of the matter is, I have first hand rolled my R several times down Killer, ****, Demon Drop, Chicken Coop and the Powerline. Now being a Wellsville rider I am sure you can verify the difficulty and roughness of these hills. Other than handelbars and rims, cracked plastic, and one one occasion a steering stem, my frame, a arms and axle have all been fine. Now for my buddies Banshee, all I can say is it took a lot of work, torches , a lot of time with a sledgehammer, and welding, to put it back together. The frame likes to fold down on the gas tank for some reason. Anyway that was on a been and gone 98 Banshee, my 13 year old R is going strong. Now first off I would like to say that some of the rolls I am speaking of were absolutely horrible. I never expeceted the R to be in one piece, but it was, the Banshee just will not stand up to abuse as well. However the Banshee is still a good and proven machine. Well, finally I would like to add, that if you are an experienced rider riding to the max, you have to expect a roll every now and then. My point is its is nice to have a machine that is not going to be completely destroyed. Now with that said, I would like to tell anyone who can get there, Wellsville is by far the best place I have ever ridden. If you can get there its worth it. I am there quite a bit, so look for a blue and white R. Ride hard. Dave

I agree with you about the Banshee frames being week. I have bent the frame where the steering stem mounts up top and bent the rear of the frame also. It does take a lot of time to get everything to line up. If you see a Banshee that looks "droopy" that is why. The question is, did Yamaha use the same style on the Raptor? I am thinking that just by the pictures, they may have, however, I have yet to see one in person. I still have some uneasy feelings about the machine, but they are the same types of things I have learned about on the Banshee first hand.

Im with RidzHard as well. If you truly ride hrd, your gonna crash. At the present moment I have a bent upper A arm, slightly cracked plastic, bent clutch lever, dented radiator(probably more that i cant think of right now). the point is, Yea I ride that sucker HARD! Its no fun watching others try to clear a new path outta in Deadmans or the other places I visit. If you havent gone over backwards or rolled a few times, you arent riding hard as you may claim. I know people that think Im crazy for "tearing up" my 99 Banshee, but converely I think they are crazy for buying a $6000 plus <insert any quad here> and just buzzing up and down hills, without pushing themselves or the machine... Now dont get me wrong, I do all the othe maintenance that needs to be done, but when its time to ride, its time to ride!!!!

I agree about pushing yourself and your machine, that's whats challenging about riding. I ride with some Polaris guys who are afraid to take big hills up or down. One won't attempt any hill that he can't stop on and back down. I enjoy a little challenge, it helps you to know your limits.
