Like everyone has said, the Wolverine is the bike for fun. It can handle chores fine but would be less of a workhorse when compared to the big bear. Even though I'm a yamaha owner, I think you should look hard at the eiger. Folks say it is pretty much just as fast as a wolverine. It also has a low range which is a huge plus. The old big bear 350's had low range but the new 400's do not.

Fun=Wolverine

Fun and Work=Eiger

Work only=Big Bear or Eiger

Yes, the Eiger definitely is a nice bike. A friend of mine that I go riding with alot has one. THey aren't as fast as the wolverines at any point during a race, but since PmanX8 doesn't care about speed, this doesn't matter too much I guess. THey are pretty powerful though for doing work, go through mud good, and have a nice smooth ride to them. The only thing that turns me off about it is the big, clunky, sqare fenders, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Other than styling, the fenders do keep the rider very dry, especially compared to the wolvy. Mad wolverine was very accurate in his final evaluation. The wolvy is definitely the most fun out of the three bikes named but can do some work as well. The other two are much better workers, with the Eiger being more sporty that the big bear.

altho i like yamaha alot, i have been leaning toward the eiger after i went and checked a few out at the shop i plan on buying from. they had a big bear and a Eiger i looked at both models. they where upstairs in storage so i couldnt test ride them (the hallway wouldnt quite make a good testing spot). the eiger was more comfortable. not to say the big bear wasnt, it was nice too. too bad none of the dealers EVER stock any wolverines around here, and they say they wont have them for a while. i would really like to check one out. but if noone has a wolvrine by the time im ready to buy than eiger it is.

hey thanks yet again everyone for your input. you all helped a good bit. those dealer salesmen never know what the heck they are talking about, there brain is the shape of a $ sign and they know nothing of the quads i want to look at. thats why im glad this site exists.

I totally agree with you about the dealers only seeing $$$ signs. I have seen it time and time again, dealers that honestly know nothing about a quad but will tell you that the deal they are giving you is the best anywhere, but when you ask why you should buy THAT specific ATV, they don't really know other than it's a good deal.
