raptortranny.com has a nice pictorial on the workings of the starter gear.

i just did mine
it is sooo exciting to have a craptor that starts with just a lil tap on the button instead of hoping the freewheeling will catch and turn it over

the worst part is that mine went out completely in little sahara at the bottom of a dune
thank god a guy with a tow strap and 4x4 happened to go by ont their way thru
i just now got it fixed and that happened on thanksgiving weekend on my first trip to lil sahara
i cant wait for the snake hunt
i got a couple things i gotta get first but im ready i had a ton of fun
it just sucks that the oneway had to go out there of all places

i did do mine with the bolts that came with the puller they were really close to pulling through though.i used one big washer

my bolts sheared on my one-way (the one-way mechanism was still ok)

I was tuning on a ride in Easton,,,,i had removed the lid on the air box,,,,to lean it out,,,,,and it backfired between 3rd and 4th and kicked back on the 1way at about 40 mph and sheared the bolts.
one of the bolt heads wedged in my cam chain and knocked my decompression pin out of whack

all is better now,,,,,and a pretty cheap fix considering the 1way was ok

Add about 80 or so lbs of pressure to the puller and whack the puller on the end a couple times with a big hammer. The flywheel will jump right off without having to add to much pressure, potentially pulling threads.

I just replaced My one way and the first day of riding I got the freewheeling again. I actually used the advice of the guys at raptor tranny and bought the L&a designs one. I rodeall day at glamis and on my last ride I tried to fire it up and it backfired. then it just started freewheeiling. What the heck????

hey. that happened to me and it ended up being a little keyway that sheared off. and it was alot cheaper than a one way bearing. so dont forget to check for that before you buy a oneway.
