i do believe in breaking it in but it should not run like crap because the rings have not seated yet.... i would have to so its a jetting problam when i rebuilt my yz i ran mint right away but i just took it easy on it and didn't put any heave loads on it

If you did it right it should work fine when you are breaking it in. The compression will be down a little but overall power it should work fine. You can go above 1/4 throttle, and your encouraged to do so. However don't get to throttle happy. Try not to load the engine by lugging it in a low gear, and don't hold it wide open either. You need to vary the throttle position to give the piston time to heat and cool, that's what properly seats the rings.

the 2 quads i just rebuilt in the past 3 mounts, are one my buddies modded blaster.

when it started 2nd kick it idled ok , but had NO power to speak of at all, we kept taking it down the road slowly for about 10minutes, and letting the motor gain RPM;s on its own, staying at the reliative same throttle, then letting it cool completely. after about 1-2hrs it ran great, before that it didnt. but now it still runs great. mabey your pilot, is A. clogged. or B. to small.

i also did my friends 300 explorer 2 stroke, and that thing also ran like crap untill about 2-5hrs of break in, it took longer for some reason? but it runs really good now.

i think breakin is KEY and if you didnt do it right then it could have problems with the motor.

listen to what chavo says he really knows blasters good.

Did you use alot of oil on the cylinder and piston skirts when you put it back together? Sometimes people use to much oil and it takes a little longer to burn off.
