Default Need Advice for a new sport qaud

yeah maddog i understand what your saying.....in the long run it would be cheaper to go for the more expensive qaud cause your gonna end up dumping a crapload of money on a slow qaud when all you need for a yfz is a good pipe... and it will be eqaully fast.... i was also considering a used YFZ or TRX 450....just planning and thinking of whats the most economically effective (<----- big words for me) sport qaud....

It is a lot of fun in the studded class, and downright scary sometimes. Nothing like doing 60+mph on ice and then slamming yourself into a corner and hoping the studs hold and that your tire didnt go flat.

Suspension is a little better, the 05 Z has rezzies and perhaps new valving along with a couple more hp. I dont think the geometry on the yfz is really all that much better, but it does seem easier to MX.

On the ice it wouldnt matter, a piped and cam modded yfz or piped z400 still doesnt have a shot at the studded class win.

Default Need Advice for a new sport qaud

There is a 2003 LTZ-400 that is for sale locally it has nerf bars and its piped already.for 3300.00 seems like its in good condition its never been raced......but i'm gonna talk to the local dealer about financing a YFZ 450. I am gonna buy a 1996 ford mustang then think about financing a new qaud. did anyone ever do any of those financing plans on a brand new qaud???? is it easy to deal with or a hassle??

Does 2000 dollars sound like a good price for a blaster it is great condition besides a small tare in the seat? Once i sell that blaster ill have around 4500.00 so i think ill buy a used YFZ 450 that is modded..

For GNCC style races you should be all right with just a piped 450. The difference in $$ you will spend to make a 400 competitve at mx isn't worth it, just save yourself some heartache and get a 450 now. I have seen some fairly clean ones advertised for around 5k locally.
