Default Need Advice for a new sport qaud

Hello,
I've been riding quads for about 5 years now and i've been racing for 3 years. I currently have a 2004 Yamaha Blaster with a few mods. I'm fixing to graduate and I want to start racing alot more then i have been. But the problem is my fourwheeler.. Its not fast enough to keep up with the other qauds at the local track which is only a Qaud A and a Qaud B. I wanna know what fourwheeler would be the best for me to get.....i know most people right off the bat will say YFZ!! but lol money is sorta a problem too... but is it actually worth it in the long run getting a YFZ or TRX... Should I buy a brand new one and go through the hassle of buying all the performance mods? or should i buy a used one that already has all the goodies on it? I race on a large MX track and I'm considering doing GNCC races downstate.

I'm not sure what would be the best way to go so I would appreciate all your opinions or advice

Thankyou

well....its not a huge issue....It just seems that 6900.00 for is a stock qaud seems pretty high....i was thinking about a z 400 or something along the lines of that...

Go used, let someone else take that 30% degredation and get a deal. A new one will usually be a little easier to pay for though, as financing is cheaper and simpler.

Its a lot for a quad, but the z is considerably slower than the yfz from the dealership. It would take more money to make a Z as fast than it would take to just buy the yfz from the start.

id say look for a used 400 wheather its a 400ex or the z/kfx/dvx clones w/ a bunch of goodies probally lik 3-5k sell your blaster and either used wat u got for the blaster as a down payment or for suspension upgrades but if u can get a 400 for equal or lesser value then the stock 450 deff get the 400 but if the 450 is upgraded then deff get the 450

Yeah i've been looking at a 2005 Z 400 and it has new front suspension with the piggy back rezzies. I am gonna sell my blaster for money for a new one... My friend has a kfx 400 which was stock when he was racing it and the number one thing you need for my track is top end speed because there is a couple very large straight aways. which the people on predators and raptors like to take advantage of.. but he was getting spanked on the straits...but he had a better chance then me..

yeah...i ice race too..but my primary type of racing is deffinantly motocross.... ice racing non-studded class is not a fun thing to do haha.. if a had a bigger faster qaud i could actually race studded with the fast people....which looks very fun
