Default glowing header

ok i just bought my yfz it has exhaust and intake and a cdi box on it and i was riding it tonight yes it was dark and the whole time i was riding the header was glowing red is that right or not????

Yep, it will be normal to glow a bit. It shouldnt glow an extreme bright red. Moving up one size on the pilot might help it out a bit. We put a Curtis sparks pipe on one and jetted it so rich it was a bit blubbery and the pipe glowed nice almost around the bend.

Its normal for them to glow, but not all of the time. At least from my experience, most head pipes will glow when they are new but should stop after some seat time. If it continues to glow I would check your jetting and beef up your pilots or a/f screws. Just what I've come acrossed on 4 strokes.

well it glows about like my wr does so im not worried i mite go up a jet tho or mess with the a/f screw a bit i mean its not brite but at night it looks bright i mean my dads yz is like a night light when its night out so

Thanks all- just got mine-after doing oil change and fired it up- Header was lightly glowing- just a little concerned-so did search and you guys helped out-Thanks

yep perfectly normal you should haveta mess much on the jetting it'll glow reguardless i put a 48 pilot in mine and still glowed so how you like RED HOT HEADER's :-)

Sounds like it's running a little lean, check your plug and maybe change up your mixture.
