Hang on a second.......
K, got my popcorn and coke so I'm ready for the discussion to come.
"K&N sucks, it will ruin your motor. Don't use them your stupid. My cousin's best friend's uncle had a motor get ruined by a K&N". Blah blah blah. I've heard it all.
Run what you feel comfortable with.
I've been running K&Ns on my bikes, quads, three wheelers, watercraft, and vehicles for over twenty years and have not had ONE single engine ever let go on me.
Let the flames begin.

Hmmm... this is making me think harder, is there like a notisable difference between them? Is one better than the other for certain terrains?

Just my opinion from my own experience...Sandy conditions-K&N....fine dusty conditions-Uni....I have both so I just swap according to where I am gonna ride that weekend. Dunes or desert...Remember though..ALWAYS use your pre-filter or outerwear and keep them clean....Problem solved.

the reason that people say k&n's let a lot of dirt through is because they are too lazy to properly oil them. sometimes it can be easy to miss a spot and let some fine dust and dirt through. however if its properly lubed and you put a outerwear on it, it will be fine. this is a proven set up and no one can argue that.
