Default Should i buy a grizz??

Hey all, im in the market for a wheeler. I drove a 2002 or 2003 grizzly last summer and i fell in love with it. I didnt want to give it back. I just dont know what to buy any more. People are telling me to buy the suzuki king quad cause its fuel injected same as the polaris, others are telling me to buy the kawasaki 750 brute force cause it has the power im looking for.

I dont know, but i do know i loved that grizzly i rode. It was blue with 27"x12"x12" mud bugs front and back.

My question is will the stock rims hold 27"x12"x12" for front and rear? Will these tires clear? Someone told me i need a lift kit for them to fit, is this true? Will oversized tires decrease my power like it does on a truck?

Thanks,

Rob

yfz450rooster, you would probably have to do the stinger mod first.

Don't pay much attention to what you hear 99% of the time on this forum, most people are just pushing their own brands to help justify their purchase. Also don't pay attention to people telling you problems a machine has had in it's past, you need to know about problems for the specific model year you plan on purchasing.

My question is will the stock rims hold 27"x12"x12" for front and rear? Will these tires clear? Someone told me i need a lift kit for them to fit, is this true? Will oversized tires decrease my power like it does on a truck?
You don't need 27/12/12 on the front, most peeps just put 27/9/12 up front and 27/12/12 rear or something simmilar. Putting a 12' wide tire up front is just adding more weight than you need and reducing your steering in the slop.

And yes you will loose power by putting on bigger rubber, same as a truck.

Don't short sell yourself give all the major brands a good look, talk to the dealers and see what kind of deal you can get on each. Just take your time.

if you want an Opinion on what the best 4x4 quad is right now I would have to say KingQuad and Grizz are the top two contenders.

The KQ, BF, and Grizz are all nice machines. I'm leaning towards the Grizz myself. The KQ has a tranny issue otherwise it would be a tougher choice. I think that the Yammi ultramatic is the best tranny of the three.

the Grizz is a more tested design and in my opinion is the best work quad of the three.

Yo! Dirtydude sounds like you are ******* people on the forum , Yes a lot of people on here just like to hear themselves talk but not even close to 99% dude. I have talked to many intelligent people on here and have gotten alot of GOOD info. Grizzybear is asking for our help and it sounds like he is getting many different opinions thats good and the worst thing he could do is listen to a saleman or dealers they are full of it and will tell you anything. As you can see I have had a few wheelers and I can honestly say the Griz is the best one I have had to date, not the fastest but the best riding and most comfortable. The 4WD is instant on engagement. I had 26s on the stock rims they were ok but still made the quad top heavy. If you go 27s do yourself a favor and get some aluminum offset rims then she will have a wider track and the top heaviness is gone. I DO HAVE 27s on mine 27x12x12 on rear and 27x10x12 on front with itp type 4 alum rims, the smaller width in front WILL track much better, This weekend we were on a frozen lake I hit 61 mph, like I said not the fastest and it took a little longer to get there thats the same top end I had with the 26 " tires and 63 with the 25" ers mind you I do weigh 280 lbs. Oh the 27x12s will rub the front of the rear fender , trim it nice and it will look good. The only other thing I agree with is do take your time ,get the best price possible.Try the types of quads you want to buy ,the best thing is stay away from 1st year models, I was going to get the Brute and then the King but too many probs. Ill keep the Griz til these probs. get sorted out. Oh and DO listen to the people on the forum most of us are hear to help each other.Goodluck in YOUR decision.

love the grizz, but if I didn't have it right now, I would get a Rhino.

But, if I was buying another 4x4 quad, it would be the Brute. That thing is a monster. If they put EFI on it next year... oh man,

Yamaha seriously needs to release a new 750-800 class machine this summer, it will HAVE to have EFI IMO.
