If you don't mind helping out a rookie when it comes to sport quads...

Whats up with cuttin the front fenders? I know racers do it, but is it mainly for less wind resistance? Primarily while in the air on the ground? Or is it more for better visibility of your front wheels when your throwing yourself around in a race right next to somebody else (to prevent tires climbing each other)???

Sorry to bring the intelligence level of this thread down, but I've had that question in my head for a while now...

Thanks

If you havn't done this before let me give you a little tip that helped me out a bunch..Instead of using a marker or tape to lay out your design, Use a white crayon it is so much easier..if you make a mistake it is very easy to take off with a warm rag and start over...After you have found the design you like just make a stencil and put it on the other fender...If you have cut fender's before or have a way that you prefer to do it just disreguard this post, but i thought i would at least throw this idea your way if this will be your first time trying it..

Almost forgot if your fender's are white just use a darker color crayon on them

ive got shaved fenders on mine, im upset that i didnt do it years ago. Their are only two lengths to shave them off, etiher totally off, ot the the first line. I was a pneumatic air saw to cut it, levelled it out with a angle grinder. then smoothed it out using a plastic welder. Dont sand it you end up with fuzzies. check my pics also
